Hello,

I have two 1" rod extensions, but I realize I need 1.5"
I could cut one of the extensions, but I don't want to screw up (pun intended) the thread.

Any advice on how to achieve a 1/2" extension?

Thanks!
Alan

McMaster Carr has them in any size. Down to1/4" long for steel guitar purposes.
Look at
standoffs
aluminum
