Well, I reeived my new Jackson Slideking LS.
It is all I hoped it would be... gorgeous, great sustain, even at the 12th fret and beyond.
I owned a pedal steel for a minute, and decided I would not live long enough to learn how to play that thing.
...but it gave me an even greater appreciation for those who have been able to learn and master it.
I have been spending time learning how to leverage the lever in creating harmonized scales. I am not sure that is the best way to begin, but it at least a starting point.
Zane King has online, a lesson on how to play a very simple version of 'Amazing Grace', and he also has a nice verson of 'The Old Rugged Cross' online, in which he gives a clear, up-close view of each hand, that i think I can use to get a feel of how this can be played.
