Hi fellow forumites. I've been working on this one for a long time and it's finally done! The books are being printed now and I expect to be able to ship in about 2 weeks. Taking pre-orders now. Thanks for all the tons of support I've had from the forum over the years in creating these books. It is very much appreciated!

Got mine the other day and this one is (no surprise!) a solid winner. As a heads up for those who might not have thought of it, all this material of course applies to E tuning as well. Way to go, Andy.

What E tuning would be best to start with if I approached this book for lap steel ? I really havent experimented with E other than Don Helms E13th tuning.
Sorry if this seems like a dumb question...the book contains a lot of great tunes and I am assuming that working with E I could do the same thing as Mark van Allen suggested in his post.
I have an 8 string lap steel that I could dedicate to all of the E tunings.

There are no dumb questions, here on the SGF. Everyone one of us is learning continually.
Open D tuning (low to high) is: D A D F# A D. Open E, using these same intervals (1, 5, 1, 3, 5, 1) is: E B E G# B E. For a lot of his early electric work, David Lindley would use these Open D intervals and tune them up or down a few steps depending on the song. Have to be careful of string gauges to go more than a whole step in either direction. 'Hope that helps, Larry.

Andy thanks...thats exactly what I wanted to know and you also answered a question that I had wondered about in regards to string gauges...how much you could tighten one (interval wise) without worrying too much about breaking a string...your material is always excellent and so I know I will enjoy this as well ! Then after all of this I ordered your B11th book for now !  I will order the D book later.
