I spent the better part of today and last night converting this old MSA into a 4x2 Day C6 (high G). I've always wanted a single neck C6 PSG and now all my wildest dreams have come true!!! The pedals are P5-P8 with RKR doing P4 and RKL doing the standard Day drop. I still have enough parts for LKL LKV & LKR and would love to hear any suggestions the forumites may have!

Great work!

I do have some suggestions...

1) For one of the levers, raise 10 from C-D and lower 5 from G-F. It's a beautiful FMaj7 or Dmin9 in the open position. Since I added that change, I now can't live without it!

2) For another lever, raise the C's on 3 & 7 to C#. Put this change where you can most comfortably use it with the standard Pedal 5.

3) Another useful idea is to raise both A's to Bb, though I prefer to only raise the higher one (string 4).

Let us know what you decide.

Alex
The four knee levers most commonly used are:

s3 C lowered to B
s4 A raised to Bb
s3 C raised to C#
s4 A lowered to Ab

Location of the levers is up to you, but most players have the s3 changes on the same knee, and likewise with the s4 changes.

I also have a vertical lever that raises s1 D-Eb. I previously had the lever lowering s5 G-F, but found that the travel necessary to achieve the full lower was too long for a knee lever (to my taste). Whenever possible, I like my knee lever changes to be 1/2 tone changes.

Jeff's first suggestion is a good one, though I'd have it on a pedal. My two S-10 C6 guitars have 6 pedals, and my p1 raises s10 C-D and s6 E-F, giving me a Dm11. All the rest are the standard C6 changes.

Nice meeting you in Dallas, BTW. Smile

Good thing to mention Herb. Mine IS on a pedal too. The only reason I mentioned it for a lever is for simplicity, since Alex specifically asked about utilizing his extra levers.

I'd put P5 on a knee when you add more. That eliminates the double-footing of 5 and 7
