After taking some measurements, it appears tha it may have been a 12 string E neck, and a 10 string C neck. An oddity fur shure! The top deck is wider than the lower deck.

It is what it is. I have no clue what would be required to finish it. You're righ! No holes for the changer. A Shobud oddity!

My camera is misbehaving. Will try to get it fixed, As far as how it can be set up, I just don't know. Maybe Ricky would know. Thinking about it, the front neck may have been the C neck, back neck the E neck. Some guys did that back then. The front panel is Sunburst; dark on the ends, light in the middle.

John I was looking at the top deck and I am wondering if that was one of the monsters Shot built? One bank was a 16 string tuned in octaves and one bank was normal 10 string... MIke

Could be Mike! It was never completed by Shobud. I have no real idea how it got out, unless it was bought at the auction after Shot's passing. I know my late friend Coop said there was a lot of odd stuff in that barn auction,

| About 2007, I had a run in with a steel guitar that had a SHO-BUD emblem on it that was as strange. My uncles brother in law had brought it out of Ohio. It was a D10 with the front neck with bell cranks, And the back neck had the barrel tuners set up on it. He said he had traded a 400.00 6 string for it. His story was someone had contracted to clean out the sho-bud ware house, When Sho-Bud was sold. Part of this material had made it to Ohio and this guy he knew had put it together out of parts. He wanted me to try and get it set up till it would Tune and Play. I took it to my friends shop for us to work on it. Before we could work on it his shop caught fire and THIS SO CALLED STEEL GUITAR burned up. I ended up paying him the 400.00 he had in it, To keep piece in the family. Could this be from that bunch of steel guitar parts that made it to Ohio? |

No. I got this body from my late friend James Morehead, He might have gotten it from my other late friend's, Coop's, salvage. Of course John was in Indiana,.

Jack,
There are no other holes in the bottom than you see on the top. I hope someone shows some interest, because, when I pass, my Sister will put it in the trash can! And that would be a real shame!
I'll try and get some better pics tomorrow. It really is in nice shape!
