...wish you had kept? Mine was an 84 Emmons S-10 Original.

In the words of George Strait, "...let's fall to pieces together..."

My old Fender 1000, which I got from Stu Basore. Sold only because I had been in a very serious accident, and needed the money for my family.

My 1980 ZumSteel Single 12. I played it for 21 years and it was one of the best guitars I ever owned. In a fit of stupidity I traded it for a D-10 push pull (I'm NOT a D-10 player) sold as playable that turned out to be a BASKET CASE that I had to restore and subsequently lost hundreds of dollars on.

Sometimes good judgment takes a vacation.

A late 90's model Lashley Legrande II, saphire blue with 8 & 4 that I traded for a Bethel SD10 & some cash. The Bethel was a very nice guitar, but that Emmons was a 12 on a scale of 1-10!!!

Also a Zum SD10 with 4 & 5. Fantastic guitar too.

When I got my Zum sd12u and Vegas 400 in middle eighties, I sold my Twin Reverb to the Montana State Prison, and donated white MSA D12. The MSA was too heavy to carry, but I wish I had both set up in my house now. I hope it rehabilitated someone.

I have no regrets on any instrument I've had and sold in the past. To me they are just a tool of the trade. If I don't need the tool or I'm not using the tool; I let it go and get a tool I want to use at the time; and on from there.
Now my Golf Clubs are a whole different story..ha...If anything happened to my golf clubs; I would crawl in the corner and die.

A original BC Rich Mockingbird, solid quilted maple, Badass bridge and all. I bought it for something like $350 in Austin in the early 80's, now they're worth thousands. It was way too heavy to take seriously and spiky in all the wrong places (gave me a bad case of "guitar tit") so I traded it even up for an original aluminum-neck Travis Bean. Which was even heavier! And is now worth thousands, etc. I was kind of dumb back then. I had an old Sho-Bud back then for a little while too, with a little fan of card symbols on the front, but the top two strings were tuned funny and it freaked me out.

my 1st steel- a Carvin 10 string lap and then my 1st real pedal steel (not including the Maverick)- a brand spankin' new tobacco lacquer MSA 12 string - 1976 version- in mint condition- sold it about 6 years ago to Jason Roberts of AATW- can't help but wish I hadn't a done that- I had a lotta history with that ax. The only ding it had was when my now ex-wife threw my bar at me from across the room and hit the guitar instead, OHHH- how I wish it had hit me instead

Ricky, I thought the same way, just tools and I can always get another..... problem is, now I can't just get another! That's life...!

Bob, looks like you and I have made a lot of the same kind of (lousy) deals.

Bob, I sold the two Strats in the mid 80's..as well a many other Fenders and Gretschs etc...

Two things come to mind as I recall these 2 specific axes, they were not good players and they did bring a fair price...

But they were in nice shape and I enjoyed looking at them..I guess that counts for something...

'60 Strat in Olympic White which I bought for $50, which I traded even for a '61 SG Junior factory white which I sold for $150.

'57 Les Paul Special TV dead mint for $700, I sold it to buy my first Zumsteel which is now worth twice what I paid for new it in '81. The Special is now worth 12 times what I sold it for in '81. But, I got a ton of enjoyment out of the Zum not to mention all the live shows and recordings I did with that steel. And the Zum still plays like brand new. Considering this, I got the better end of that deal.

I sold a '66 (or was it a '65) Black P/P for low money after converting it to an all pull. Dumb, real dumb.

My- ulp- '66 Montgomery Wards Airline single p/u elec. 6 string. (Yes, laugh, but that thing had GREAT action!) Everyone who laid hads on it commented on that. For my first guitar, really, I loved that thing, played it for hours on end... it had a rosewood fingerboard, too, and wood bridge which was adjustable. What happened- A fully packed orange crate full of LP's (weighing about 40+ lbs) managed to fall upon it and shatter the headstock... perhaps it could have been saved, by sawing the remainder off and jointing a new one on.. but that just didn't cross my mind. Maybe,I could have just got hold of a new neck, but at that point (mid-70's) I didn't know anyone in the area into repairs who had an extra neck lying around- (and a couple years later, someone came out with put-it-together-yourself kits...)
Anyway it WAS a great axe...
