Hi,
The wife and I just booked a flight to Calgary, Alberta in June. We plan to drive around and see the Rockies, national parks etc. But we would not mind hearing some country music and steel guitar, while we're in the area.
Your tips and suggestions will be very much appreciated!

I just booked the Millarville Market, southwest of Calgary for June 17, 9 am. Till around 1:30. Just me and a bass player playing with an electric drummer. Lots of steel, lots of shuffles. |

Ranchmans on McLeod trail is a country bar with a very rich history. You are not likely to catch any traditional country in the evening these days, but the Saturday afternoon jam is likely worth checking out. I believe it starts around 4:00PM.
Making the drive to Millarville (near Black Diamond) to see John would be worth the detour.. it's not far at all. That's a beautiful spot nestled into the foot hills.
Also, Jeff Bradshaw is one of Canada's premier players and lives about 2 hours northwest of Calgary. He is also a member on these forums... maybe try and PM him to see if he has any suggestions. |
