Just finished this little 22 1/2" scale, 8 string,,,I try to build every one better than the last and I have to say,,this may be the best one yet!
Beautiful birdseye maple and rich purpleheart! Last pic is comparison of this one and my tigerstripe/mahogany.

Hey George,,,thanks a million my friend,,,means a LOT coming from you!!!

My skill and dedication is not worth much,,,but the price of these woods is going out of sight,,,getting to be cost prohibitive.

Very nice! Did you make the bridge and string anchor parts from stainless or aluminum?

Hey Carlos,,thanks for kind word!

Bob,,,it is 6061 aluminum. I've built 30-40 of these keyless guitars held up well. My keyless tuning fingers are very similar to the Kline system,,which are steel. But as I said, these have worked out OK.

BTW, my buyer for this guitar has backed out so it is back on the market.

Sonny- Thanks for the reply. I'm jealous of your ability to machine the metal parts. The metal work on steels is such an integral part of what makes steels different, and I'm currently stumped on how to get going in that direction. As an acoustic guitar builder, wood has always been my medium. Keep building great instruments!--Bob

Thanks Bob,,,you'd be amazed at the "equipment" (or lack thereof) I use to make these things,,,mostly drill press and grinders,,,of course I used to (still do) make jewelry, so even though it is done by hand, it is still pretty precision. Have made some very accurate jigs. I've "made things" for as long as I can remember,,,built houses, restored cars, made jewelry,,,made a living doing all of it.

Super nice. Great work, Sonny! I recently found out from my friend, who saws timber, that you can't tell what tree will contain flamed, curly or bird's eye maple. If I remember right, it's usually red maple that can contain this prized wood.
