Arnold "Rick" Richtmyer passed away Sunday morning. This had to be unexpected, as he was happily posting to his Face Book timeline on Saturday, and I'd not heard of any prior illness. I believe he an his wife lived in Adamstown, MD.

Rick has not been active here on the forum in recent years, but I met him here several years ago, then in-person at Scotty's and later he and his wife stopped by, and stayed overnight with us, on their way through Cincinnati. Rick played guitar, dobro and steel; perhaps other instruments as well.

I do not have any word on services. Perhaps some of the MD steelers who knew Rick will have an update.

Did he spell his name "Ric"? Or are there 2 different guys with similar names?

Mike,

He went by Rick.

I remember a lot of spirited political debate on the now defunct Off-Topic Board. Guess we didn't change any minds, but it led to a nice meet up at Scotty's, and seemed to re-emerge on Face Book. At Scotty's we had our version of the beer summit. I believe that was Rick's last trip there.

Ron

I think I was part of the beer summit as I remember meeting Rick at Scotty's. My sympathy to his family.
