Where can I find a bar holder insert?

I've got a custom project I'm working on and I'd like to add a spot to hold the bar vertically when I'm not using it. I'm looking for some type of insert where i can drill a large diameter hole and sink it in. Is there a cylinder with a lip on it out there? The first thing that comes to mind is one of those black plastic film canisters, but I'd prefer it to be metal.

Any ideas?
