Black and bare are ground, red is the hot lead. White and green tie together and don’t hook to anything. Just put some electrical tape or something over them so they do not short out.

This is a very perplexing problem. I also thought it was as Roger says. Everything I can find on the net says red and green tie together and white is hot and black is ground. Just today I have told Raymond on the phone to tie the white and green together and tape off. Then I researched and called him back and told him to tie the red and green together and tape off. He (and I) would like to know for sure which is correct. I could have told him a year ago but now I am not sure. The 705 comes with directions. Does someone have those directions so we can be sure?
Roger, I believe you are right but all I find says differently.

Jerry,
Roger is correct on the wiring. I've installed a number of these new 705's over the last couple of years and it's the only pickup I use now on my guitars. The green and white can be wired to a toggle if you want to split the blades using only one like a coil tap.

Thanks David, I hope Raymond sees this. I will call him tomorrow to make sure. I thought it was as Roger said and told Raymond to wire it like that then to be certain I pulled up some old forum threads and googled and really got confused.
Thanks Roger and David,
Jerry
