Looks like another Stringmaster has been dismantled and all of the parts ar available on eBay.
I have no affiliation with the seller, just a heads-up in case anyone here needs parts.
The sellers eBay name is "michael_atw"
Another one bites the dust...

Yep, another eBay guitar parts scavenger. Hundreds of listings selling guitar parts, but no complete guitars, as far as I could see.

Here are some of his current listings for Fender steel parts. There are more but I couldn't fit them into a single screen shot.

He's at it again. This time it's a Fender Champ. It looks like all of the parts are there except for one potentiometer: the body, pickup, bridge plate, tuners, knobs, case. Why not just sell the complete guitar? This time he's listing everything at 99 cents, no reserve price. He must enjoy taking things apart.

kind of sad to see. I am glad when people are able to finish or repair instruments with these parts but its still sad to see these guitars dismantled.

I think a lot of people see the steel guitar as a novelty instrument (Have actually heard people say this) and they take them apart because they are seen as something nobody wants. On one of the fender bodies on ebay the tuner pan had holes in them (for pedals at some point) but the seller said it was for them to be hung on the wall so that tells me a lot of these sellers don't know much about steel guitars.

I contacted him and made a low ball offer on a FENDER badge on one of the Dual Professional bodies he has for sale. His response was "Why would I devalue this piece to sell you a part?". Seriously.

so sad to see. I would have a hard time bringing myself to part a steel out. I guess if someone isn't a steel player they don't realize how special these old guitars are.

That's because prying off a badge damages the finish. Important notes to your comment were you entertained the very resellers you hate - and you also did it through a low-ball.

You're putting words in my mouth. I never said that I "hate" anybody. I'm sorry you took it so personally, and surprised that you would say that after your repeated charges of inaccuracy above.

It probably will not help save these musical pieces from dismemberment, but I refuse to buy from these guys. I know it is their property to use as they please. All I can do is stay out of this market. Steve t

We don't need four separate discussions on the same issue. I'm closing this topic.
