Got this guy a few days ago. It's got no maker's mark on it, but it sure looks a lot like my other guya. I am thinking it's a refinish, but I'm not sure. It looks very professionally done and even had a bit of a burst look to it. Any info on likely age, etc. would be welcomed!

My main question is with regards to the switches. The leftmost one seems to simply be a neck selector, the next two seem to be some sort of boost for the rear neck, and the far right one a boost for the front neck. But I don't really know what's going on electronically.

What I do know is that I really love it, and I'm really glad I didn't buy that teisco at Elderly a few weeks ago...

Thanks, Michael! Yeah, my other one just has 3 switches - one for each p/u. this one is doing something else with those 3 switches - seems like a boost.

But based on your comment about how they came from the factory, why would they have a neck selector AND on/off for the pickups? That seems redundant.

I have a single neck, 6-string, 2 pickup version of this guyatone. My two slider switches work as follows:

Left up, right down: neck pickup only
Right up, left down: bridge pickup only
Both up: both pickups, series
Both down: both pickups parallel

I would guess your two-pickup neck might function the same way

For those who don't yet have one, this is how the Guyatone D8 sounds, same model as shown.
