Any you guys ever tinker around with using brake cables to activate changer pulls.

Linkon guitars in Canada makes a very cool lap/pedal guitar that works like this, also MSA made a set up like this for Phil Baugh.
Instead of the guitar sitting on legs and the pedals connected to the undercarriage via pedal rods, the rods are replaced by cables similiar to brake cables on a bike.

I am tinkering with a lap steel and want to try to set up a couple of pulls via this method. Anyone have any suggestions as to what kind of cables would work best for this application--brake,auto,bike,aircraft???

Any ideas/experiences would be appreciated.

You mean something like this?

This setup doesn't work very well, and I haven't had time to redesign it. The pedals are really "Spongy" and the rocker that pulls the string is too small. The B and E strings only last a few pulls. I have some ideas and when I get the time I'll redesign it and make it work. It's still a way cool piece of gear though.

That's a nice set up D. Is that the MSA unit or someone else?

I don't really need anything that fancy just to make a couple of pulls on a homemade lap. Any ideas on how to simplify that set up?
