Anyone know if there is a list of steel guitar dealers by geographical location? I'm specifically looking for one within a reasonable proximity to Augusta, Ga. I have a sister there who's interested in getting one & I really think it would be helpful if she could get a little more familiar with them before ordering one off the internet or some such thing.
Thanks!

Probably the two best places to visit close to Georgia would be Billy Cooper's Music in Orange, Virginia, or Bobby Seymour's Steel Guitar Nashville in Tennesee. Both have several guitars, both new and used, available to look at and try, and both are very knowledgable about their products. It is a bit of a drive to either location, but there are just not many stores like this in the USA... Larry J.

She could check out various steels and talk to knowledgable people like Charles Reece at the Saluda show next month a lot more easily. BTW, Charles lives about 15 minutes from Augusta in Clearwater, SC.
