Tom, that is what I was thinking, it is a "mistery" guitar, outside guitar is your typical vintage steel, with a fair amount of dents and scratches, but after you turn guitar over, you would think you are looking at the undercarriage of a brand new Fessenden...guitar looks like new, and pedal and knee lever stops are positive with a super smooth action...I would have to say, it is an awesome guitar, and I personally like vintage look, but I also like modern mechanics, and this guitar appears to be combination of those two...very,very interesting instrument, and very good and solid as well...

Damir,
Beautiful as usual. Do you have any information on the Remington company? Also, what is the attachment on the top back of the changer housing? There looks to be a pin coming out of the back of the changer axel that rests against it? Could it be to couple the changer to the body for better sustain?

Bryan, I don't know much about Remington company, but I do know that I have never seen one this clean underneath...as far as the little block on the changer goes, your guess is as good as mine, maybe some kind of tuning stabilizer, or maybe anti de-tuning device?

Very nice guitar Damir and although I've never played one, I heard they were easy playing guitars and had great tone. There is a few Youtubes with a Herb Remington playing one just like this and it sounds great. Can't locate the link right now. Internet too slow.
I'm guessing but does look like an anti cabinet drop tuning device, similar to device a few Zum guitars had. Probably adjustable.

The block behind the changer is what Herb called a Turtle, and yes it's an anti cabinet drop device. I wish my 12 string extended E 9th Remmy had one.
No one seems to want these guitars, so they sell at prices that wouldn't normally buy you so much guitar. They are first class all the way through, have smooth action, and sound great. Notice the 11th finger in the E9th changer for tuning the 2nd string half stop. I've owned a Mullen G2, and now have a brand new Williams 700 Series, so I do understand what a great guitar is. These Remingtons are a steel (no pun intended) for the price they sell for. |

| I started playing pedal steel in 1999 and since I live in Houston, as does Herb Remington, I went to Herb to buy a guitar. What I learned was that Herb is the designer, and he had a machinist who made the castings and mechanical parts, another man made the cabinets, and Bobby Bowman did much of the assembly work. I ordered a guitar from him, but the machinist got cancer and couldn't continue working. To my knowledge, no other pedal steels were made. I never got my guitar, so I bought a Carter, which I loved. Herb kept making the non-pedal guitars. Herb plays, to this day, a S10, Sustain Master, he made and he tunes it to A6. Herb told me he never played an E9th tuning. |

Bobby built this SD10 for me in 2000. Still have it, BB was a Great man and Player and Friend and built this one GOOD! There a great steel, Tone/stays in tune, the one Herb has is exactly like this one except the tuning. Sorry I got better pictures but this is the only one that I can load. Marv Fluger removed pad and put a catcan on the rear

Man, that is a LOT of pedal steel for the money...
Looks as well built as any other, and better than a LOT of others..... I would have no problems buying and playing a Remington if I needed a pedal steel guitar... bob
