Catty Town's steel solo is really cool and different. After some research I found out the steel player was Charles Adams. Anyone know more about him? Obviously he played with Pee Wee King, but who else? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qr11FRMcMzc

The Charles Adams you mentioned is probably not the one you are talking about.

The cartoonist spellrd his name Charles Addams, my wife's grandfather went to high school and college at Colgate with him, and as far as I know he didn't play steel, but he indeed was a really talented guy.

They just opened up a new upscale restaurant and bar in my town Addams Tavern, on the same Elm Street that he grew up on.

Hi Ethan: I think the Charles Adams you are referring to was better known as Chuck Adams. I knew him well in the 50's. We took lessons from Russ Waters in Flint Michigan. Chuck was my first hero. He was a very fast and clean player. He went with Dusty Owens (also from Flint) to DesMoines, Iowa, and worked at radio station WHO when he was only 16. Later he worked with PeeWee King. I talked with Dusty Owens a few years ago, and he told me that Chuck had been living in Arkansas, and passed away a few years ago. Russ waters was a very good teacher. Besides myself some other students he had were Terry Bethel, Don Rauch, Jim Baker and Dale Grey.

Believe it or not, I was just kidding about Chas. Addams the cartoonist.
Interesting background info about him though.
