looking into a tropical destination vacation...would like to go somewhere where there is LIVE music...especially country, steel guitar, or Hawaiin...

not sure if this exists, even in Hawaii !

any suggestions ?

There are a few steel guitar festivals in the Hawaiian islands, some of which have camps attached. Might make for a fun vacation. Here is the link to the Maui festival's site: http://www.mauisteelguitarfestival.com/

It looks like it still has the 2016 dates on it, but I think they are having one in April 2017 again.

Otherwise, it is hit or miss, even in Hawaii.

Well, it's been in the 80s every day here, there are palm trees & nice beaches, and I play with about the best traditional country band in this town on weekends...so c'mon down to Florida!
