I went looking for a rack for me newly acquired Carvin BX500.

I didn't want to go with a heavy large SKB type rack so I looked into rack bags. I was not impressed with any of the standard SKB, Road Runner, or Gator. None of them seamed like they would provide adequate ventilation for an amp. An effects unit maybe but not an amp.

I found a very affordable alternative in an Odyssey rack bag. Odyssey BR316 it's a 3RU 19" wide 16" deep rack.

What's really nice is it is a rack bag but has a full plywood rack inside that's removable. So far I really like this and it was cheaper than a hard rack.

The internal 3RU wooden enclosure is covered and very sturdy. It slides in and out of the bag quite easily. I think I'm going to like it. There is enough room in the rack to route the cables just about any way you want to. I plan to keep it next to my seat so I have access to the amp while playing.
