I've listened to this rehearsal maybe 100 times. Seriously.

https://youtu.be/wOiizSMGFDk

Its just outrageous.

But, I can't seem to find any of some of these songs in other places so I'd really love to get their names. I know they're probably all swing / steel standards but I still can't find them after many days of researching.

I figured this would be a stellar place to ask (a few people are curious in the YouTube comments section as well, and to my knowledge they haven't been answered)

Hopefully I've succeeded in providing the links respective to the song time.

Song 1:
https://youtu.be/wOiizSMGFDk?t=86

Song 2:
https://youtu.be/wOiizSMGFDk?t=299

Song 3: (love this one)
https://youtu.be/wOiizSMGFDk?t=529

Song 4: I think its " I just destroyed the world "
https://youtu.be/wOiizSMGFDk?t=777

Song 5:
https://youtu.be/wOiizSMGFDk?t=1085

Song 6:
https://youtu.be/wOiizSMGFDk?t=1294

Song 7:
https://youtu.be/wOiizSMGFDk?t=1454

Song 8:
https://youtu.be/wOiizSMGFDk?t=1673

Song 9:
https://youtu.be/wOiizSMGFDk?t=2022

Song 10:
https://youtu.be/wOiizSMGFDk?t=2369

Song 11: - Rose colored glasses
https://youtu.be/wOiizSMGFDk?t=2752

Song 12:
https://youtu.be/wOiizSMGFDk?t=2884

As an aside, it sure is amazing to watch Buddy and the boys just hanging out and having a great time even though really they're at work. Also, even though its unhealthy, its sure impressive how many cigarettes Buddy slams down and how seamlessly he can take a drag, place the lit cig on his guitar, take a ethereal hard-bop solo, then pick it up for another drag right after. Really wish I could have had the chance to see him.

Even the name of one of these songs would help me out tremendously. Thank you!

Most of this stuff is off of 2 Swingin' Series CD's. It's All in the Swing and Goin' out Swingin'. I'm not sure where you can find them, but you ought to get 'em if you can. MOF, the whole Swingin' Series should be in every Emmons fan's library.

I didn't listen to the whole thing and it's been a while since I've heard them all, but I can help you out with a few of them.

1. Darktown Strutter's Ball

2.Up a Lazy River

3. S'Marvelous

4. just destroyed

6. Woman, Woman go On HOme

7. So Many Ways to Say Goodbye

9. Blue Jade

10. Not sure, but this may be Avon Calling

Song 1 is "Darktown Strutters Ball"
Song 3 is "S'Wonderful"
Song 9 is "Blue Jade"

Thanks for posting this William. Buddy always seemed so relaxed, confident, and happy playing...RIP

Many thanks to Bill Ferguson for capturing this BE rehearsal and posting for all of the rest of us to view.

This video is one of the Best I've seen that allows us mere mortals watch and dissect Buddy's flawless knee lever and floor pedal work.

A fantastic tutorial.

Ray Pennington was with him on this show and did vocals on Woman Woman, So Many Ways, The Next Best Thing...I don't remember if he sang I Just Destroyed the World or not and there may have been others. Like I said, it was a long time ago. I think the entire performance with Ray is also on youtube somewhere.

Once again - hats off to Bill Ferguson - Carl Dixon - DeWitt Scott and all involved in the filming and release of these important videos.

(If anyone sees any errors - please let me know. I'm assuming the last clip is Saturday. Could it possibly be Sunday?)

Thanks Ferdinando. I corrected the post. The SGF comes through again!

Here's Sonny Stitt with "Blues Walk." Sonny Stitt originally called it "Loose Walk" and later changed the title to "Blues Walk."

I first heard the tune years ago as "Loose Walk," but somewhere its title got changed along the way.

Lou Donaldson also wrote a tune called "Blues Walk," which is a slow blues and much different than the Sonny Stitt tune Buddy is playing in the rehearsal video.

Just to be sure, I checked in the Real Book and the tune listed as Blues Walk is indeed the Sonny Stitt tune Buddy plays on the video, NOT the Lou Donaldson tune of the same name. The RB listing has Clifford Brown under the title, but I don't know if that's a writer's credit or not.
