There are three places to lock down the pickup, two on the back one on the front. I can't get the front anjustment to seat righ and not end up with part of the spring on top where only the screw should be. What am I doing wrong, Can someone help ......
I have pictures, dont know how to put them on here

Fred, if I understand you right, here is a picture and how I installed the front height adjustment bolt on my MSA Vintage XL 1978.
On my guitar, there was a washer under the single front bolt head and on top of the spring. That washer is to hold the spring in place. When I placed that single front bolt into the neck slot, I used a small electronic's type flat head screw driver, between the bolt head and the washer--pushing down on the washer, so I could slide the bolt head on top of the neck slot and the washer going underneath the neck slot. Hope this helps. |

Right. The two springs on the changer side push up from the deck, and the one on the neck side pushes down, and the washer is fairly important. Not essential, but a real pain without it. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
