Fred, think it's a real one? Or was it built after '94?

I plan to stop in the pawn shop the tb mentioned and maybe purchase the one he refered to. then I will transport it under guard to a certain well know chicken eater, one "Richard Head" and see if he can verify or determine the origin and validity of the guitar.
Maybe take a picture or two and see if I can get them posted.
Just got to figure out how much chicken to take with me. If I can get it reasonable and it is worth saving then it will probably be donated to a youth to begin his learning process.

Sorry Ed and Tom, I went by the pawn shop this morning on my way to the office and the lady said that a young women came by late yesterday afternoon and bought the LTD. Said she wanted to give it to her husband for a christmas present and she bought it.

Bobbe did you buy it? From the description it sounded like maybe you sent Brandella to pick it up????

ED,

Am I right in saying that some of the Rittenberry original Ltds have the older and the newer changers, and some of the fake Ltds have the new changers, but the new Ltds that are not fakes, have old changers, and some of the new Ltds that are fakes have eithe old or new or both changers. Ed, this is so confusing. Can you try to explain it a bit better?

Not exactly sure of the time frame but around 12 years ago Tim Cushenberry, builder of the Cush cases, sponsored a Steel show in Hammond, LA. Gary Rittenberry came with a LTD that he had built especially for this show in order to demonstrate whathe could do.
I already owned one of his guitars that I purchased from Music City Instruments in Magee, MS. I was so impressed with the guitar that Gary brought that I had Joe Garner buy it and I in turn traded my LTD for the new one. This was one of the most beautiful guitars I had ever seen - built on a 3/4 frame with small pad. I sent it back with Gary for him to add a knee lever making six knees.
I greatly enjoyed this excellent guitar. This in response to someone who said he had never heard anything good about these guitars. I can only speak for two of them and they were choice.
Later I decided to buy an Emmons which I still own. At that time I felt I could not afford two guitars so I sold the LTD and lived with that regret until two years ago I located the guitar and bought it back. It will hold its own with any guitar.
I spoke last year with Gary to thank him again for building this great guitar.
Again I do not know about other LTDs but I can tell you that I had two good ones and still have one of them.
Speaking of the Hammond show, Doug Jernigan was there playing a LTD that he played on the Opry with Jack Greene.

Farris- If you will go back and read my posts about the LTD parts I used, dates they were used and other info that all relate to the NASHVILLE LTD . It goes into detail concerning this issue.Issues like shaft size, endplates, changer finger design are explained. One post saying "Would I Sell 1 finger"? - a customer told me -"WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T GIVE HIM THE FINGER" It may offend him .ED.

We've been poking some jabs at Ed, myself included, and Ed deserves some credit for taking all the jabs very graciously, much more graciously than I would, for sure.

However, Farris, unless you yourself feel Ed has somehow ripped you off personally, or have firsthand knowledge of that occuring beyond a doubt, your last post is way out of line. Do you want to post a real case accusation?

We have heard from some who are happy with Ed's work, and we've heard from some who are not. Let's let those of us who've had experience with Ed praise him or accuse him, and the rest of us who don't even have any real knowledge but simply like to jump on a pigpile, step back.
