Does anyone know how to remove a cross shaft on a JCH steel? I think it`s the same as what Emmons Legrande uses.
I belive it`s some sort of spring load on the shaft...?

I need to take it off to reweld the pedalrod hook up finger.

Thanks,
Dag

Remove the chrome plated strip on the rear apron of the guitar and this will enable you to remove the crossrods.

Bruce, this will work for my Zumsteel.

This JCH do not have a hole through the back appron.

I know it`s suppose to be a trick to get the cross shaft disconnected.

Thats odd. I have worked on numerous JCH's and they all had the back cover strip. In fact one of the guitars had a serial number which made it one of the first 10 ever made and it had the back strip. You might want to check with Jimmie and have him authenticate your guitar.
