When I was growing up I used to get catalogs from the Carvin Guitar Company. I bought one of their guitars about 1969, or so, but I always wondered about their pedal steel guitars.
Do any of you know much about them? Or have one? Wasn't it a cable pull system? How was the tone?

I remember the catalog of the Carvin Steels and the ones I saw looked very familiar to the steels Chuck Wright were building. The changers were mounted on top and used cable pulls.
My first Wright Custom was built in 1963.

I always felt that the Carvin Steel Guitars looked like a close copy of the Fender PSGs of the day. (1960s) Question

They actually looked more like a Wright, due to the somewhat "clunky-looking" changer that stuck way up on top of the guitar.

There's a lot of information in the Carvin Museum website. Google "Carvin pedal steel guitar".
