I am curious as to how many S-10 Fingertips were built at the factory by Sho~Bud. And it would be nice to see a few photos if possible. I know John Billings, and Bob Muller own a few, and also have much knowledge on the subject, so how about a thread dedicated to just S-10 Fingertips?

Bob, I just bought it and it is on its way, should arrive Wednesday. The guy that sold it to me says that the pickup is good, and the coil tap is working. It is a 3 pedal, 1 knee guitar.

Would be interesting to see how a fingertip sounds and how temperamental they are. Can you get parts for these? Mr. Mike you think you can update us later?

Bob, I like it, the pickup is real nice with just a little single coil hum. With a few minor adjustments, it seems to playing in tune, even with the old rusty strings on...
I am planning on leaving it as is, 3 pedals and 1 knee, with the knee lowering both E's.
Thanks to you and John (JB) for posting photos, hopefully a few others will post photos of their S-10s.

Mike it doesn't look like the pickup is grounded to the strings? Run another wire from the ground of the input jack; to any screw point of that finger bracket/spring bracket...anything eventually the strings are touching. You will get rid of a lot of the hum/buzz/noise of a single coil pickup.

What do you think about the sound? Maybe wait till you ground it like Mr Ricky suggested. I'm interested in the sound of Fingertip and if it's practical in this day and age to use. It is unique underneath. Parts be accessible ?

Thanks Ricky! 
Wayne- it is as practical as any vintage sounding steel is in this day and age. It has a unique tone that is very pleasing to my ears. I am leaving the underside untouched, no reason to change it, it has survived almost 50 years as-is... but it could easily be retro fitted to used an undercarriage of newer parts as others have done.
