I bought several records at a nashville store (two George Jones albums from 60's, Loretta Lynn on Decca Label, and an early Conway Twitty album). The young salesperson asked me "are any of these country?" since they had a discount on country albums. I was attempted to give her the David Allan Coe reply, but explained to her the 60's when these were recorded was the classic period of country music. She told me she didn't like modern country because of the stupid lyrics, but had always thought she might like the older stuff.

Nothing like the old stuff. I enjoy spending many hours in thrift stores and at the salvation army buying old records. Luckily they can still be found for low prices at many places. I think if more people checked out the old music they would actually like it.
