This may be an old question, but first time for me. I am learning how to play Sleepwalk in C on my 6 string steel....going well. But I am confused about the guitar accompaniment. When I either hear or see the arrangements, it has the guitar playing what seems to me to be conflicting chords.
For example, when I am playing a Dmi structure on the my steel on the fifth fret, the arrangement and recording have the guitar seems to be playing an Fmi chord. That conflicts with the Dmi. The A on a Dmi chord is in conflict with the Ab in a guitar Fmi chord. Help me out if you can. Thanks, Mike |

Is this pedal steel or lap steel?
Either way, your steel guitar arrangement is wrong. The correct chord is Fm. There's no Dm chord in Sleepwalk. In the C6th tuning, you should be playing an Fm chord at the 8th fret. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

Do you mean in the second part of the song where it goes from F to Fm?
Or the first bit where it goes C Am Fm G?
And I'm guessing this should be in "Steel Without Pedals" unless you're playing it on a 6 string PSG.
You'll probably get more poeople who know the tune inside out over there. |
