I'm not sure how many DIY folks are on the forum but I'm thinking of doing a few Melobar models up to: paint finish and assembly. If you're looking to get into a Tele, Lindley V, Rusty Young Rosac style or double neck Tel-O-bar version really inexpensively; I'm getting them ready this month.
This is a Tele Melobar on the right for $265 plus shipping, more photos on the melobarted blog, make sure you state you found out about it on the forum for the forums donation.
ps. always love trade-ins too _________________ old Melobar guy |

Hi Tom, Both that one that's sold and the Blue one listed yesterday are 6 string.
If you need an 8 or 10 I can drill one that way, no extra charge.
That has been a common question, so if you have a 8 string pickup you want to use; I can either send the neck as a blank and you can router it yourself, or, send me the pickup and I'll router the neck to fit, width on a these necks is 95mm, and we have installed the Lawrence L705 without the bottom plate for years. At which point you'll need a Melobar Bridge plate which I have too.
BTW - this set up is the same as what Paul Franklin used on the Melobar Teleratt as far as components and scale, just in the stand up Melobar neck.

GAAH! Do you know, offhand, Master Franklin's amplification line? I KNOW it's partially some box, because if Paul Franklin had whacked Lindley's skull and stolen his Dumble my spies would've informed me... but golly that tone is close.
So Baby Sherlocks prime yer muskets =
WHAT IS THAT BOX...
P.S:(The soundman likely has some highs rolled off, which makes it harder to I.D.) |

Never talked amps with Franklin, however David brought his amp to test the Proform body Melobar to a private meeting with Dad and I and said it was the amp that recorded Running on Empty (no box and it had the sound), and as always, even though I'm not in the business anymore, I can't say much because they are very protective of their sound and I have to respect the backstage stuff, there's a SGF post from Fogarty on Lindley sound and this youtube link worth looking at. I tried to get in touch with the amp company but never heard back.

Hope that helps. _________________ old Melobar guy |
