Here's a photo experiment. Adobe has this new free app called Spark that allows you to create a slideshow online and share it. The fatal flaw seems to be that it crops certain photos and all you can do is choose a focal point - not resize them in any way to show the entire photo.

Anyway, I've been collecting steel pics off FB, SGF, university archives, Library of Congress etc. I was originally gonna do a book but I have too many other projects, so I looked for a quick and easy way to share. Sorry these don't have sources/attributions and captions. I would call this only a semi-successful experiment but here's how it lives for now.

Cool pics, Andy. There are quite a few I haven't seen before. I was able to scroll through the pictures manually on my mac. Are they supposed to change automatically in a slideshow format, or no?

As far as I can tell, you need to manually scroll via your mouse or the up/down arrow keys - but I only have 15 mins experience using this app. Smile How about that Gibson guitar/steel double neck? Created years before Jr. Brown's Guitar-Steel.

I love those old pics...the one looks like Speedy West and Roy Lanham on guitar ! I love Roy's playing.

Thanks for posting these.

Thanks Andy. Great stuff.

The cropping is a problem...

Thanks again.

'Welcome, Bob. I'm a bit shocked Adobe would build in a bug like this - having the software decide how to crop the photos. If you post your wedding photos, Grandma's head could be cut off! Other than that, it was free and easy. There are obviously some duplicates and low -res shots that need culling as well.
