If you're talking about the Red Simpson record it's Leo LeBlanc I believe.

I read that. Sounds like he kinda lived a life on the fringe (imagine, a musician living on the fringe).

For as much drama and chaos the man apparently lived, makes me wondered when he had time to learn steel like he did. Endless Black Ribbon is a clinic on amazing playing, IMHO.

His son, Larry , posted to the comments on a Youtube vid of the song. That's where I got the info.
