I'm using a stock single coil, which I like,
EQ wise , I find it a little more vintage or classic sounding than my BL 705
on my other guitar,

On a Legrande III SD10

Stock in my LeGrande II D-10.
Why would you use anything else?

Asa most people I see on here and around say they like stock Emmons the best with true tones a close second.

Quentin,
Yes, you are correct.
I usually order or replace the pickups on my pedal steels with TruTones except for the Emmons.
On those, I stay with the originals. Very Happy

I'm using Bill Lawrence XR-16's on both necks of my Legrande, because I like them.

I am a "humbucker" guy.

I have the original Emmons 108's on my 1993 LeGrande.

Would not change them for anything.
