I was curious about replacing the 10th string B with a string an octave lower.
Anyone ever do this? |

My first thought is that it would be useful only as a root, that is to say with Es lowered or in the A/F position. It would likely be less effective as the more common 5th (pedals up) or 3rd (A/B), so I doubt it would be a good trade. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

I've never done that with a pedal steel but when I played a T-8 Fender Stringmaster, I put bass strings on the bottom 4 strings on one neck. We didn't have a bass player in the group and one neck on a Stringmaster was set up to do that. |
