After a very dark period in life, I've moved my a$$ and decided to pick up the pieces of life again, and settled in Germany, I live there in Kleve NRW, a little village at the Dutch border.
I had a Dutch steelguitarschool, that will be brought to life again, and I also start a school in Germany now. The time I started in Holland, in '97, I had more then 30 students and there was a boom in sales for steelguitars, esspecially Zum students and Carter Starters, I expect this to happen again, it s already began through the Dutch dealers
I teach , (esspecially for beginners)in groups, privat at my place and at your home. Teaching is my occupation, so I won' t go to fast!!
As this is a English site, I can't speak in German here, aber ich spreche gut Deutsch!! My school in Holland is still in Amstenrade-Heerlen, Holland, where lessons will start again soon. German steelers, please say the word to beginners that are not in the internet, that I can be reached on 02821-719573.
It' s nice to be back!!

Welcome back Johan.
I think that there are many steelers that would love to have good teacher again.
You are right when you say that the dealers are been called more often about steel guitars. In this little country there still are not enough steels though.
Hope you will make some progress with your steel guitar school.

Johan,
I'm sorry to hear that you had to face bad times and I sincerely hope that it only made you stronger.
Good luck with your School! Kleve isn't that bad, I once played with a band at the "radhouse" wich was a nice little club...
I'll spread the word.
all the best,
MArtin

Johan,
I'm truly sorry you have been through some low moments since we last met. But in teaching, as you know, you get a chance to make your students' lives richer in a way that can't be valued in mere money. I hope that they appreciate what you are doing for them.
Viktor Frankl says that tragedy--and hard times--can viewed as an opportunity that life is offering us.
And I hope you are getting the chance to play some gigs. Music, especially on the steel, is a great healer. I know.
Met freindelijke groeten,
Chris

Glad you're back JJ. Your site on Derby pedal steels is one reason I now have two 2004 SD10's. I keep one set up at our church and one for home and playing out. Both are identical except for color and pickup. |
