Hi,

Is there a music definition page here? I'm getting the impression from reading the various posts that "copedent" may mean some kind of tuning but I'm not sure. It isn't in the dictionary and I couldn't find an actual definition in a search here. Thanks.

Hi Leila,

To answer your question directly, the "copedant" is the tuning system of a given instrument, including open, pedal and lever variations of the individual strings.

Leila: CoPedent is a word that steelers made up. You won't find it in a dictionary. Erv gave you the origin. It encompasses all tunings. Just means what chords and pedals are involved.

Yes, it was Tom MANY years ago. I remember receiving his material when I first took up the pedal steel in 1966. Where did the years go?
