Today I was in a pawn shop in Columbia MO and saw a single 10 pedal steel which had a metallic nameplate which said "Roberts" on it. The guitar was a natural-finished, sorta plain-looking piece of maple with a white plastic covered pickup. It had 4 pedals, and I noticed that the bellcranks were simply welded to the cross-shafts! I forgot to take note of how many knee levers the thing had.

Has anyone ever heard of one of these? It sorta reminded me of a cheap version of a Carter Starter or an old Maverick. D'ya think it's something someone made out in the back shed?

Just curious,
Mike
