Sam,

I have a used Lace Dobro Sensor pickup. You'll see that it needs to be soldered to a 1/4" output jack, but is otherwise ready to go. It has a new piece of double-sided mounting tape on the back and the lead wire is 20-21 inches long. As I said, it will need to be soldered to an output jack. I'll sell it for $55, shipping included. If you're interested, send me a PM and we'll work out the details.

Check out the reso pick ups in Eldery.com catalog. An inside or bridge mounted will get the best results. The top mounted pickups makes it sound like an electric guitar.

Thanx,
Jim

Is it a biscuit or spider bridge? If there are different pickups for each, you need to make sure you get the appropriate one.

I think it's a pretty safe bet that Sam is talking about a Johnson spider bridge resonator.

All I can tell you is it is a Square Neck Johnson TM Resonator.I be leave it is the Spider.I will like to put the Pick up inside of one of the holes where the small round sound come out of the top besides the Cone.I have a lace Sensor and they are junk it does not work right and it keeps falling off the Resonator.

Johnson makes 2 different reso-guitars. One has a spider cone and the other has a biscuit.

Each is pictured on the web sites, so you can see which one looks like yours.

Mike, interpreting Sam's sentence above - he's talking about a spider bridge guitar. Round soundholes adjacent to the coverplate. The biscuit bridge model has the f-hole design.

Sam, I am guessing that you didn't click on my link above to read about the subject in another thread - you would benefit from this.

One of the onboard mini microphone systems mentioned in that thread might do the trick for you. But unless you are in love with the Johnson guitar, go to Plan B in the paragraph below.

In your case I would follow the course that I suggested for the gentleman from the UK in that thread. Sell your Johnson resonator if you have to, and for about $500 go for a Gretsch Bobtail resonator guitar that already has the Fishman Nashville pickup installed which is the best dobro pickup on the market. You will be way ahead of the game.
