Hi Paul,
I did before I got rid of my MSA's - and have added split tuning on several customers MSA's since then.
It consists of adding a pull (which consists of, in MSA nomenclature, a brass pull pin, pull rod, pull tube and nylon tuner) to the pre-existing 6th-string lower bellcrank (puller).
Plenty of slack, or 'free-play' is left in this added pull, as it is used to slightly raise the 'slightly flat' F# that will result after tuning the G Natural 'split' (combined knee lever and pedal).
The tuning procedure is important to follow in this order:
First, tune the G# at the tuning key;
Second, tune the A with the B-pedal down with the appropriate nylon tuner;
Third, tune the G Natural with the B pedal down AND Knee Lever engaged using the knee levers 'pre-existing' nylon tuner.
Finally, with only the knee lever engaged tune the F# with the added nylon tuner.
