We already knew that Jordan McConnell was one of the finest acoustic guitar makers alive, so Dream Guitars was pretty stoked when we found something new show up at our door. Instead of one of his SJs, we found not one but two electric guitars from the man himself--looking dressed up for Sunday dinner with Jordan's eye for detail and curving headstocks--waiting patiently to be plugged in and cranked up.
This one features East Indian Rosewood back and sides (and pickguard!), Sitka Spruce for the top, and a set of custom Bare Knuckle humbuckers with lots of beefy tone for Rock, Blues, or Jazz. With the double F holes, this McConnell's voice is bigger and more filled out than your standard semihollow, and the bass notes have a rich rumble that's unmistakable. Also featuring McConnell's distinct neck profile, this electric has a slightly wider nut (1 3/4") and feels absolutely amazing for the left hand. With the dual arm and rib bevels, this guitar plays and feels like your favorite Strat--but with a much more dynamic voice that can lend itself to a variety of modes. The bright gold appointments are well-paired with a brooding sunburst finish, and give the guitar an exciting aesthetic.
