Re. Splits: I have a lower from D to C# on a pedal and a raise from D to E on a knee lever. Both on the same string. What i wanted and managed to do is have the string play E when both pedal and KL are engaged. I did it the standard way with a second rod on the KL as a lower.

What i can't quite figure out is how it works! I see the nylon nut for the C# lower and it's further in than the compensating lower so yes i see how that works but why is that compensating nut farther out? I am prob being thick here. Ha ha.
