Virgil passed away Wednesday September 14th after an extended illness from cancer. There will be a viewing Sunday September 18th from 4:00pm - 6:00pm. Service will be held Monday September 19th at 10:am under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Ar which is on HWY 412 in Siloam Springs, Ar. We have lost a great friend and musician. He had the "Mooney Licks" down to a T. Sorry the obituary wasn't ready when I posted. Hopefully we can get some pictures and add to this post. Our prayers and thoughts go out to the Pittman Family.

We have lost a wonderful friend. His friendship is one of the most cherished in my life. Virgil Pittman, Bill Peabody, Donley Harrington, Mike and Ronny Smith and I made up the Country Classics Band for most of twenty years. I'm sure going to miss my Buddy. My sincere condolences to his Mom Irene, his wife Debbie, their sons Kevin and John and the rest of his precious family. Go rest high on the mountain MY FRIEND.

Virgil was definitely one of the "Good Guys". He had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around. He was a good picker and patient with us beginning steel players. We will miss him terribly. Prayers for his family. Rest In Peace my friend.

My favorite song that he played was Amazing Grace. I loved hearing Virgil play, and he was so good about sharing his steel guitar knowledge. Great guy.
