Has anyone ever tried out bl710 pickups in a gfi with good results. I know alot of people say put dark pickups in a gfi because they are bright sounding guitars to begin with but Skip Pilgrim had Bl705s in his gfi and sounded good. Also Norm Hamlet has a Bl710 installed on his C neck and sounds great as well.
I use pot pedals and regular cables so that mellows my tone out as well.
Would like to try them out.

I have TrueTones in my D10 Ultra and I think they sound great (especially on C6). I use a pot pedal with no buffers. I don't find them too bright at all. Interestingly enough, if I were to switch to humbuckers the 710s would be my choice. I don't have any experience with them but I think I would like them over the 705s. At least with 6 string guitars, I prefer the way single pole pieces respond rather than the blade style. (Example being a TV Jones Supertron vs TV Classics, the latter of which I ended up putting in my Gretsch).
