Here's a challege for you guys(and girls). Instead of playing the same 6 or so licks I always seem to play on my E9, anybody got any suggestions using ONLY the A and B pedals?

Maybe if there's good response to this, then we'll move on to the AB and L Challenge!

(yes I am too cheap to buy some lessons!)

By the way, try not to use the chromatic (d# and f#) strings. I'll get it started(and this is probably an old one, I think it sounds like mooney)...I do this to accent a dominant 7th chord, or for a V to I intro:

You can gussy it up by starting or landing wherever you want, but the gist of it is to move down two frets from the tonic chord, roll the a pedal on the "b" string(5 for most, 3 for me) in combination with the "e" string (4/2) For instance

g#---------------------------------------------
e--------------10-------------------12------
b--10- 10A------10A-10----------------
g#-----------------------------------12------

I thank you for your efforts, and I'm sure the audience will especially appreciate it!

Chris

Here's an 8th note run:

G#_________________________________________
E ___8_____________________________________
B ______8A--8_____________________________
G#_____________8---6_______6---8___________
F#_____________________6___________________
E _________________________________8________
D _________________________________________
B _________________________________________

Here's another:

G#_________________________________________
E _________________________________________
B ____________8____________________________
G#____8---8B_____8B--8_______8_____________
F#_______________________8_______8---6_____
E _________________________________________
D _________________________________________
B _________________________________________

The idea in both of these is to take advantage of the fact that your root note is available two frets lower on the F# string.

Oh of course Dick. Certainly don't want to ignore all that you have done. I was thinking this was sort of different.

More like making a collection. Imagine being a new player and having a collection of licks one from each forum member, and even pros, that were donated especially for new players. Kind of like a perpetual, "wish you well and here's a little bit to help you on your way."

I don't know. Seems kind of cool to me, but maybe there is no interest. It did die off pretty quickly back when originally posted. We'll see.
