How cool!
Jimmie seemed to passionately embrace the new. In Barry Mazor's 'Meeting Jimmie Rodgers' he talks briefly about Jimmie Rodgers and Cliff Carlisle working together; and how Jimmie gave him permission to perform and record many of his songs due to his love of Carlisle's unique style on the Tricone.
Thanks for sharing this Jim! |

I guess old Jimmy was way ahead of his time! He must have had folks scratching their heads and asking "Just what the hell is a SteelGuitarForum.com anyway? |

Very funny Don, I was thinking the same thing.
Earnest, It's a sad sign of today, in a disposable society.
I went to a celebration of Jimmie many years ago at the Rock and Roll hall of Fame, run by my friend Bob Santelli, it was real cool and there was plenty of steel guitars that weekend.
Just saw Steve Forbert a week or so ago, who is also from Meridian, Mississippi _________________ Regards, Craig

Jim: Did you know that my Uncle Elsworth Cozzens played Dobro with Jimmy Rodgers. That's where my brother Mike got inspired to take to the Dobro after banjo. Tommy...... |
