steel guitar pickers are they a certain reverb tank that can be bought for a steel guitar amp for pedal steel or are they all about the same.

A reverb tank doesn't care what kind of guitar you're playing. Very Happy

Reverb tanks are designed to work with different reverb circuits. There are long and short spring types. Short,medium or long decay and 4 or 6 spring tanks. Here's a link that might explain:
