Looking at a 12 string E9th Emmons Push Pull - It is now 3x4 - I can have it converted to 4X5 - I play mostly E9th but would like to add some 6th flavor to it - Any suggestions without a lot of drastic changes - I would be happy with just the 5&6 pedal changes on the 6th tuning and could live without the "C" pedal on the E 9th.
thanx..........Ron

b0b has some great setups (I just put it on mine and love it) for 12-string in his own website here: http://b0b.com/

...and Forumite Al Marcus has been playing and experimenting with 12 string psg's for years and has several setups at his site here: http://cmedic.net/~almarcus/

Ron,

I like your idea of using pedals for 3 and 4 for C6 changes. That and a few new grips and you will be sounding groovy. I had a Carter 12 Ext. E9 last year, sold it and want a Fessy 12.

Do a search on the forum for Ext. E9 tunings, you will find a few on here. Earnest Bovine uses the tuning

If you put the high E to F# on a knee lever, that would free up pedal 3. You can get the C pedal effect by using the A pedal plus that lever. Then you can put the B6th changes you want on pedals 3 & 4.

But really, it's not hard to get the "6th flavor" out of the standard E9th. All of the chords are there. It's just a different set of grips.
