My Friend Smiley Roberts and I had dinner together here in Nashville the other evening. We've been Brothers in Steel guitars since 1980. We were sharing great road stories of the various Country Music stars we've played for. Hillarious. Just a great guy and player an Friend.

Smiles used to be pretty active here, but we don't see much of him for a while. Hope all's well.

Smiley was a friend of mine back in the late 60's and was the reason I
started playing steel. When Jean and I got married on Sept 1st 1967
he followed us into a restaurant in Wheeling W.V. and bought us lunch.
That's one event of our marriage we won't ever forget.
Always loved the way he played, and what a wonderful person he was.
Would love to see him again, and see if he still remembers me.

Ron, thats young Ben Hall playing my Wallace Tele, which I had loaned Him to see how He liked it. Ben is a super fine picker and entertainer, and is one of the several super pickers in the Wallace Stable. Great picture. Lonnie
