Just bought some steel legs from nashvillerecordings.com. He cut them to size for me. Now the guitar sits slightly lower and sounds even better than it did. I agree with Stu Basore, the legs do affect the sound of a pedal steel. I bought the COS. They look and sound great. Great service too he will make sure you are happy with them. Thanks shout-out to Ray. |

I don't see where they list the weight difference between the two?
COS vs COA
Chrome Over Steel and Chrome Over Alloy look exactly the same with a bright chrome finish, they sound the same on your guitar, but they surely don't feel the same when you lift them. The lighter weight of COA makes them a lot easier to haul around on the road, and they are called "Airline legs" because they were first developed for our Nashville pickers who were flying to gigs and needed to save money on the cost of airline tickets.
SET OF 4 LEGS - CHROME OVER STEEL = $139.00
CHROME OVER ALLOY (The traveling professionals choice) = $149.00

Strange that they list the weight as a feature but don't specify it! The Legs on my MSA Legend were the lightest I've ever seen! They took a few pounds off the total weight of the guitar. |

We could ask Ray what the difference in weight is. I may try to weigh all four and compare to my lighter ones that I did not buy from nashvillerecordings but came with the guitar. I wanted to get the Ritt down a little height wise and changed legs with the Fessy. I was not expecting a difference in sound at all. The back legs on the Fessy are 22 in. All 4 of the Ritt legs were standard. I changed back and forth between the legs a good 6 times and each time I noticed a difference in tone. So I order 4 COS legs from Ray. The difference is not drastic, maybe most can't hear it but I can. |
