Derby SD-10 3X5 all splits, new pad, E-66's. Excond but case shows some wear. Sounds great, plays perfectly. Completely gone over and set up by me. Please note: The photo has a bit of glare on the fretboard..its only glare

$2150 plus shipping. Local players, come and get it.

Love that color...reminds me of a 57 Chevy! Hard to beat a nice Derby, and if Johns gone through it I'm sure it plays smooth as can be!

Beautiful. So for a guy looking for his first pedal steel and who wants a quality guitar, what would you say should be the key points of comparison between your beautiful instrument and the Mullen Royal Precision SD-10 current posted for $2,220 on the forum by Greg Simmons? Sound, quality, number of pedals, etc.? The prices are essentially the same.

Honestly either one would be great. The Derby has an E-66 humbucker..the Mullen has their great SC pickup. Really, can't go wrong either way. They may take different approaches to splits (I'm not sure if the earlier Mullen guitars use set screw splits or the extra pull rod method???) The Derby used set screws.
Both systems work well. I prefer the set screw method as done on my G2.

Jump in...the water is fine!

IMHO the chance to get a guitar like this from John is too good to pass up. Derbys are great guitars, and John knows as much about them as anyone on the planet. If I didn't already own multiple Derbys I'd buy this in a heartbeat. I'll bet he's got this playing better than new.

If I lived anywhere close to John's, this guitar would already be in my car.

I owned a D-10 Derby in that color. Wish I'd never sold it. It
sounded excellent.
