Looking for an S12 Universal 7x5. Keyless would be ideal for size and weight. Not looking for an SD12 for those same reasons. I'm very interested in a Williams for their quality and being on the lighter side but could be open to other options as well. I'm not looking for the lightest travel guitar ever made, I'm looking for a great pro model that will be my only steel that I can also travel with. I'm pretty sure I want a modern guitar rather than vintage to take advantage of some of the recent mechanical advancements and allow easier repair if something happens on the road. As I'll be needing to fly with the steel I'd like to get split cases so I can carry on the steel and check the legs and pedal bar in my suitcase, but I can always have the cases made myself. Anything above 3000 isn't really an option right now and around 2000 is where my budget realistically sits, though I know that's very hard with all of the specific things I'm looking for. If it's the right steel I'll do whatever I can to try to make it work.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I don't want to part with mine, but I'll agree a Williams should be an ideal choice for what you're needing. I'm thrilled with my S12 keyed model. Very light, very stable. Good luck in the search! _________________ Stop by the Steel Store at: www.markvanallen.com
