Just received my beautiful new Melbert 8string lapsteel from Bob Allen, and it's awesome. Taking pictures was a nightmare. ..rather posting them . Finally got it to work using my Samsung galaxy camera which is a very strange device.

Stu, I have one on order just like yours. [cherry wood]. It will be a companion to my curly maple Melbert. ha. Both will be tuned to A13th. Bob Allen builds great looking and sounding lap steels.

Between you and Mr. Morgan Scoggins posting pics of your new Melbert steels, I am jealous and thinking about one myself. That cherrywood looks incredible.

Joshua,
If you decide on getting a Melbert steel, contact Bob Allen at melbertsteels@gmail.com. It will probably take six to eight weeks. It only takes a small deposit to get it started.
Let me know if you do and I will send Bob a payment of $100 to help out. I want honor you and your wife for your sacrifice and commitment you demonstrated in your recent child adoption. I also want to thank you for sending me the materials I needed to get started playing steel again.
I will say one thing... that cherry wood guitar that Stu has is very beautiful!
I really love my white oak Melbert. It has incredible sustain!

No worries Mr. Morgan. I appreciate the kindness you have always shown this young steeler. I haven't made up my mind yet as to what I am going to do though. I am also looking into a double 8 Steelmaster or something similar. I love the A6, but also want to add some of the old Hank tunes in either E13 or a similar tuning in E.
